Selling a Car That Has Been Parked for Months in Dubai
A car that has sat parked for months in Dubai can still be sold as it is. A dead battery, flat or cracked tyres, dust and an expired registration are normal after a long stop and do not need fixing first. Carology buys these cars as they are: the renewal fines and any traffic fines are deducted from the price, and because an unregistered car should not be on the road, we arrange collection. You get a firm offer, payment by bank transfer or cash and the RTA transfer done for you.
What happens to a car that is not driven
- The battery drains, especially in summer heat
- Tyres lose pressure and the rubber cracks in the sun
- Rubber seals and wiper blades dry out
- The registration expires and late renewal fines build up
- Building management may start asking for it to be moved
Should you fix it before selling?
Usually not. Jump-starting or charging the battery is fine if you want to check it runs, but new tyres, a service or a renewal just to sell rarely add as much as they cost. A dealer prices the car with those jobs already counted, so you spend nothing up front.
Expired registration and fines
An expired mulkiya means late renewal fines and usually a new RTA test before the car can be transferred. You do not need to renew the car to sell it. We check the fines across the UAE, settle them during the sale and deduct them from the offer, so you see exactly where the number comes from.
How the sale works without driving the car
- Send photos and the details on WhatsApp, including how long it has been parked
- Get a price range, then we arrange collection
- Firm offer after a short inspection, payment before the car changes hands
- We complete the RTA transfer, so the car is out of your name
If the car has a bank loan, it must be cleared with your bank first: pay it off, get the clearance letter and the mortgage release, and then the car can be sold like any other.
When you sell to Carology you get one firm offer with no hidden deductions, you are paid by bank transfer or cash before you leave, and we complete the RTA transfer. The valuation is free and there is no obligation.
